Huston-Tillotson College Inaugural Events Include Celebrities' Induction in "Path of Excellence"

Austin, TX - Lasting Value™ and Teach One Entertainment, in conjunction with Huston-Tillotson College, have invited three of the most prominent African-American people from the world of entertainment to the upcoming Presidential Inauguration festivities, slated for October 25th through the 28th. Dr. Larry Earvin will become the fifth president of Huston-Tillotson College during next week's events; his presidency will begin with his honoring of MC Hammer, Jheryl Busby and Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson as the first three inductees in the Huston-Tillotson College "Path of Excellence."

The "Path of Excellence" has been created to capture the footprints of global leaders of the black community so that current and future students of the college can remain cognizant of the spirit and drive that has propelled those leaders to excellence. The "Path of Excellence" is intended as an inspiration for students to constantly seek excellence within themselves. The ceremony took place at 2:00pm on Friday, October 26th at Huston-Tillotson College.

Busby, Hammer & Henderson place their footprints in cement.

M.C. Hammer, preeminent recording artist, entertainer and principal in a variety of entertainment and technology-based business interests, will arrive in Austin to attend the festivities and speak with the HTC Video Production class which is led by Lasting Value Communications and Teach 1 Entertainment LVC/T1 principals. Hammer, an ordained minister, will also officiate during the Inaugural Convocation at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 26th at the college.

Jheryl Busby, former president of Motown Records and executive with DreamWorks Records will be arriving in Austin from Los Angeles, California to participate in the Inaugural festivities, as well. Mr. Busby has partnered with basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson, and music superstar Janet Jackson to acquire the majority interest in Founders National Bank, the only commercial bank in California owned and operated by African-Americans. The recent merger of Founders National Bank with Boston Bank of Commerce and Peoples Bank of Commerce in Miami has created Americaís first black-owned national bank. Busby will join the combined companyís board of directors. Busby, Johnson and Jackson have also just bought the acclaimed FatBurger hamburger chain.

Former star linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson returned to Austin following incarceration and rehabilitation for drug offenses. Since then he has created an investment company, HHH Fifty-Six Management Inc., which Henderson is the president of and has dedicated his time and efforts to working with youth through speaking engagements and through the establishment of a non-profit organization called the East Side Youth Services and Street Outreach program.
